Many watchmakers are partnership with automobile racing. they find their inspiration from high-performance cars. Of course, Laferrari is a partner of Hublot. The new model is inspired by former MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire watch. 
Boasting of a sapphire setting for the record-breaking movement, it is based on the MP-05 LaFerrari which was created in 2013 as a tribute to the eponymous supercar.
MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire’s three-dimensional construction of the 53.5 grams case middle, in sapphire, provides an exceptional setting for the movement which can be admired from every angle. It appears to be suspended in mid-air in the bespoke setting carved from sapphire.
The HUB9005.H1.PN.1 movement features 637 components and a suspended vertical tourbillon. The bridge of the movement even bears the word Hublot, which the engineers carved into this transparent material. While the MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire can be strapped on to the wrist with a transparent silicon strap, the ultra-futuristic timepiece is wound by a mechanism using a miniature power drill, modelled on the tyre-changing tool used in Formula 1.
Upping its exclusivity, only 20 pieces of Hublot’s MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire will be offered, which makes its a rare collector’s item for auto aficionados as well as watch enthusiasts. We are sure it will drive in with a six figure price tag.
