I’ve liked the Kazimon Eintausend ever since I first noticed it a while back. With the tons of watches vying for my attention the classy German diver sat by idly waiting for me to notice it once again. Now, after revisiting the Eintausend watch again I am pleased to say that the design still pleases me greatly. What you have in a nutshell is a fashionably designed, well finished, functional diver watch with a good German character and reasonable price. You start with a steel case that is 44mm wide with a 22mm wide metal bracelet. The case has a nice almost satin finish with a good deal of angles mixed with curves and nice technical features. As a diver watch, the style of the dial reminds me a lot of aviator watches. I think the combined style is well done. You can see homages to other popular German “tool” watches in the design for what I feel is a satisfying result.

A lot went in to the durability of the watch. The case is 1000 meters water resistant, has shock protection, and is antimagnetic. The case also has a built-in helium escape valve. The sapphire crystal is domed a bit and 3mm thick. You have an overall very capable design, plus some unique little cues. Take for example the special caseback screw – shaped like the Kazimon logo, the tool shaped like a propeller fits into the back of the watch if you need to remove the case back and access the Swiss ETA 2824-2 movement.

The steel bracelet has solid end-links and have screw bars that hold the links together inspeak of pins. You also have a diver’s extension in the bracelet and micro adjusters in the deployment clasp. The wide middle link will be a matter of taste. Going back to the dial, the hands and hour markers are covered in C3 SuperLumiNova, and the dial has a nice mix of matte black, lume, and red trim. A good touch is the little round date window (that is one a matching black disc) that matches the circular shape of the hour ring in the dial. The 60 click rotating bezel has a nice black inlay with lume at the 60 minute counter.

The Kazimon Eintausend comes in a really rugged Pelican case – which adds to the “do anything, go anywhere” character of the watch. As a sole timepiece it is ideal if the style matches your personality, and of course diver watch fans, and those looking for classic looking superman watches, they will find a contender in the Eintausend. Price is about 1,500 euros. Learn more about Kazimon watches or get one here.
