Earlier today, we sat down with the team to see the brand’s 2015 collection, which includes the much anticipated Villeret Grande Date.
For the first time the Villeret Grande Date possess a sizeable date display which is a welcomed practical feature positioned at 6 o’clock, consisting of easy to read bold black numerals. Both the front and the reverse are sealed with a sapphire crystal covering and the timepiece itself is water resistant to 3 bar. The 40mm case is fashioned in18k gold spilling seamlessly into a sophisticated monogrammed crown located at 3 o’clock. This watch is a certified timeless timepiece with a; mechanical automatic patented 6950 calibre, silicon balance spring and a protective shock-absorbing system, bearing all the desirable qualities of traditional watch-making. It intentionally and successfully continues to prove: there really is, ‘no school, like the old school’.
The watch is classically elegant in its appearance with thin opaline Roman Numerals and stainless steel hour and minute hands oozing the synonymous style of the immortal Villeret collection. This timepiece is positively timeless, with it’s simplistic accents, which compliment the effortlessly stylish nature of its entirety.
Inside, the Blancpain Villeret Grande Date houses the caliber 6950 with yellow gold rotor which contrasts nicely against the stainless steel case. A timepiece which would not overshadow an outfit, nor be lost in the fabric. It is the icing on the cake of the classically inclined individual. Available in steel the new Blancpain Villeret Grande Date is priced at $ 11,660.
