Waited half a year for her and here she is!
Unboxing her…

This clock measures in at 15″ in diameter and is based on the Royal Oak Ultra Thin. I haven’t had a chance to put her on scales yet but she weighs a ton!

Notice the raised tapisserie surrounding the Audemars Piguet font. Hmm…the watches didn’t have this border of  tapisserie surrounding them…

Very nice polished recessed bolts though too bad they are not in white gold (heheh).

Iconic Royal Oak design cues…

If you look very closely, you can see the detailing even extends to the inner razor edge of the bezel. I count 3 separate brushed patterns on this picture.
However, this picture also brings up a question.
I don’t have an Ultra-Thin in my collection so can anyone tell me whether the sapphire crystal (of the real watch) is supposed to be sunk into the bezel?

I can only use the AP’s in my collection for comparison:
the crystal is slightly raised on my 41mm RO.

Ditto for my ROO.

And again the same for my Skeleton.

It seems very unlikely that the crystal on the Ultra Thin is likewise sunk in so unless somebody says otherwise, I’ll just assume that AP followed design cues from other wall clocks (they typically have raised bezels) rather than be 100% true to the watch design.
I don’t have a problem with that. The AP wall clock will look great in my home. This message has been edited by psychotic on 2015-10-18 00:36:01
