Swiss watch manufacturer IWC has released a unique edition watch for German’s football team who are carefully preparing for Euro 2012, the UEFA European Football Championship. In fact, this IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Edition DFB is the third watch that made by IWC to develop the partnership with the German Football Association. This masculine watch is specially built to show the dedication and strength of the team in the aesthetic with a limited production of 250 pieces all around the world.
The timepiece is available in a sizable 46 millimeters diameter by 16 millimeters height stainless case with a special engraving on the back, and it is a solid case back. The convex glass consists of sapphire crystal which has antireflective coating on sides. The water resistant function can reach up to 200 feet. There is a mechanical movement inside the big case which is the power resource of the entire watch. The IWC manufactured 51011 caliber comes with an efficient self-winding system. This movement comes with an impressive full seven days energy reserve and 42 jewels part.
The rhodium sun-ray finished dial and the strap are also painted with the team’s national color on them. The black indices and Arabic numbers that mark the hours contrast nicely against the light silver background. The power reserve indicator and small second hands show flashes of red. The power reserve display shows yellow “1” as a reminder when movement needs winding. There is a date window can be seen on the six o’clock position and 2 sub-dials, which are the power reserve display in the three o’clock position and small second display in the nine o’clock positions. The strap is black stamped leather that actually works and fits nicely with the color scheme of the entire watch. It’s linked to a folding clasp that’s made of stainless.
