Dior cracked open the archaeological archives for Baselwolrd 2015 by introducing the Dior VIII Grand Bal Pièce Unique “Envol” No.5, a watch full of mystique and ancient Egyptian magic. This one-of-a-kind timepiece features the brand’s innovative oscillating weight at the center of a higly decorated dial boasting shoking pink hands against a rippling background of scarab beetle elytra marquetry.
Green baguette-cut tsavorite of 2.70 carats nestle joyously inside of the yellow gold paved bezel whilst the opalescent brilliant-cut diamonds on its bezel rim glimmer with refinement. But the jewel in the crown is the small rose-cut diamond embedded inside of its time-setting function.
This 36mm timepiece comes with a metallic green or black satin strap, depending on which takes your fancy at the time, and sits comfortbaly on the wrist at only 72.43 grams. It is secured by a white gold prong buckle set with brilliant-cut diamonds. Like the scarab beetle, the Dior VIII Grand Bal Pièce Unique Envol No.5 transforms and brings to life any outift, illuminating its darkened haunt with vibrant colours and a sliver of bright yellow.
The Dior VIII Grand Bal Pièce Unique “Envol” No.5 once again houses Calibre Inversé II ½, a patented movement that can be admired through the sapphire crystal glass of the caseback.
