The past few years from Audemars Piguet have been much of what we have expected. After all, AP has been more clear and concise with the company message, and the SIHH releases and other strategies support the various mantras. The authorized dealer network has been consolidated and refined. The focus on the core collections is quite evident. And a commitment to producing current releases is visible at AP Boutiques and points of sale.
But let’s not overlook how the ladies collection has been emphasized and improved the past 3 years. We were told about this renewed commitment in 2013, and when you look at some of these recent releases, there is no denying how awesome the collection is.
37mm diamond encrusted Royal Oak (2013). How often do we say “pictures don’t do it justice” or “you have to see it in person”? In the case of this model, I almost think photos are a dis-justice. It is too easy to think a diamond encrusted case is gaudy or over the top. Not at all with this Royal Oak. When you hold it, your breath is taken away.

If I could cite a single drawback, it is that TracieC is frequently asking me about these new models, and that will hamper MichaelC’s ability to add other APs. But surely that is OK with AP, as they are doubling their target audience
